In fact, Angora cats faced a serious risk of extinction in the first half of the 20th century, declining so rapidly that harming one could lead to harsh prison sentences.

Angora cats are medium-sized, standing about 20 cm tall and weighing between three to five kilograms. They have round, small paws and a long, athletic body. Angora cats’ eyes can be green, blue, or amber, and are quite large. Some white Angora cats are famous for having heterochromatic eyes (eyes of different colors), adding to their unique beauty.

Temperament of Angora Cats

Angora cats have a calm yet playful temperament. They enjoy playing as kittens and maintain their playful spirit into adulthood, loving exercise and movement. They are ideal pets for family life, being very gentle and affectionate. They remain close to their owners, seeking attention and displays of affection. However, like all cats, they also value their independence, so family members should respect their need for space and freedom to avoid making them feel constrained.

These curious and adventurous cats will try to reach difficult spots, and they have no problem climbing. They are intelligent animals, capable of learning over ten commands, and they respond well to discipline and training from an early age.
